News from the Production Department: new machines, new energy, new possibilities.
In this quarter, Giordano Holding takes a further step towards production autonomy and operational efficiency. In fact, numerous changes are underway, designed to optimise time, costs and space, with a view to growth and sustainability.

The new 750Ton Hitian press

The new 750-ton press has gone into operation, a strategic investment that allows Giordano Holding to implement the production of items such as Plastimark shopping baskets. The machine will also increase Gioordano Global’s daily production of egg trays by around 15,000 pieces, alternating with Plastimark and freeing up capacity on the presses currently in use.
The 2400 ton press is scheduled to be in place at the end of September and this represents a first step towards greater flexibility between the group’s two companies, Plastimark and Giordano Global, optimising production cycles and freeing up other presses for alternative uses.

New 20-ton overhead crane for the mould department

A 20-ton overhead crane has been installed to serve the new mould park, dedicated to the two large-ton presses. The larger moulds will now be concentrated in one organised area, improving safety, handling times and technician operability.

Expansion of the solar power plant: +200KW

The expansion of the solar power plant has begun, which will increase from 600KW to 800KW to accompany the increase in consumption (from 1600 to about 1900 KW/h) expected with the start-up of the new presses. A new electrical cabin with a dedicated line to power the presses, refrigerators and dryers is also under construction.
Solar energy is a valuable support for the in-house power plant – powered by animal fats and able to cover the company’s needs with 100% green energy – especially in the event of downtime or low output (winter, rain or night hours). In case of need, a backup line connected to the public grid is always available.

GIORDANO BV – The Netherlands and global markets: new employees and new perspectives

The Dutch team of Giordano Holding expands with the addition of Filipa Contreiras, new Office Manager, and Mees Brouwer, who is training to become a worldwide hatchery expert. Mees will collaborate with the Europe BU, led by Simone, and the North America BU, coordinated by Bert.
The first production of the HatchcargoSystem ProLife has also started, a significant milestone that opens up new tests and developments in the poultry industry.
In the United States, a new partnership was started with the SMP plant, which will support FMT in the production of Jumbo Trays and ECS dividers.
In May, the company participated in the CAHE exhibition in Qingdao (China), successfully presenting the ECS Traditional and XL systems. The positive feedback from the Chinese market, the world’s leading duck producer, confirms the potential of the XL system.

EGYPT – More production capacity with two new machines

The production plant in Egypt has recently taken an important step towards increasing its efficiency and capacity: two new Haitian injection moulding machines have been purchased, of 1000 tons and 380 tons respectively. In parallel, two historical machines, the Sandretto and BMB, were decommissioned.
The plant now has a total of six machines, four of which are new generation, ready to guarantee faster, more precise and reliable production. This upgrade not only improves local performance, but also strengthens support to all business units of the Giordano, with more timely service and greater flexibility.
