Global Operations & Business Units Update
Business Units report dynamic activity worldwide, with strong initial orders for 2026 and targeted strategies to overcome regional challenges. Expanding partnerships, new product developments, and a widespread demand for automation are driving the Group’s commercial focus forward.
EUROPE: Strong Start and Strategic New Orders The year 2026 has started very well for the Europe region, with many inquiries and orders, primarily for the ECS®. While the industry is generating significant capital, price levels remain a challenge when dealing with a few larger customers. Production capacity at Techpack is fully booked until August, which is currently affecting margins. A major strategic success is the first secured order for Aviagen in France, driven by Mees; upon proven success, this will expand to other countries step by step. This achievement will add the company to Aviagen’s preferred supplier list, unlocking more opportunities for the entire GPP assortment. Additionally, there has been a surprising new inquiry for Eggyplay from Romania. Following successful GVD training in Caraglio, the team has started approaching potential customers, and the first positive responses have already been received. On the product side, improvements to the dividers and a necessary new protector have been implemented successfully to reduce complaints. Finally, the team is actively preparing for the P&P expo in Birmingham and organizing client visits across Germany, Denmark, and Poland for March and April.
APAC: Growing Automation Demand and Market Expansion In the APAC countries, there is a clearly growing demand for the EggsCargoSystem (ECS). This trend is strongly driven by regional labor shortages and rising labor costs, pushing customers to seek reliable automation and transport systems. Significant project milestones include Avinash Nair securing the first ECS customer in Pakistan, alongside excellent progress by Jerry in the Japanese and Korean markets. While ECS remains the main focus, there is also substantial interest in Vaccination Devices. To capitalize on this, the team is making a conscious effort to introduce these devices during customer meetings. Furthermore, a strategic decision has been made to develop the ECS market in India, partnering with a local company named Polaris to expand the commercial footprint.
NORTH AMERICA: Navigating Market Shifts and Major Projects In the US market, the improving bird flu situation has paradoxically made the market more difficult; however, the resulting decrease in egg availability has driven up market prices, leaving customers with more capital to invest. Conversely, the Canadian market remains quiet, with a higher volume of stored eggs generating a need for more material. The team is actively managing several large projects in the US: orders from Mid States and Pete and Gerrys are confirmed, and negotiations are underway with Vital Farms and Burnbrae. ECS remains the primary product of interest. A critical challenge for the region is the significant increase in shipping prices from Italy due to political reasons. On the promotional front, the team is preparing for the April PEAK expo and recently celebrated good results from their sponsored racing team, which reached the podium last year.
MEA: Broad Product Demand Amidst Logistical Challenges
The MEA region is seeing a wide range of requests across Transport (Chick Boxes, Drawers, Piedmont), Egg Handling (ECS, Lindamatic), and Farm Equipment (Automatic Lines, Jumbo B, G86), alongside increasing interest and quote requests for GVD. The primary demand is originating from the local Egyptian market, South Africa, Morocco, Ethiopia, Algeria, and several countries in West Africa. Recent one-on-one visits to Ghana in January, aided by connections from the Egyptian Embassy, have successfully resulted in requests from new customers. However, the region faces severe critical issues: the ongoing war has caused raw material prices to increase, making pricing challenging, while logistics remain unstable and expensive. As a result, main markets such as Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the UAE are severely affected.
GVD (GIORDANO VACCINATION DEVICES): Global Focus on Automation and Reliability
Operating globally, the GVD Business Unit identifies three primary market trends: the need for Automation due to labor shortages in hatcheries and farms; the demand for Reliability to ensure consistent flock health and disease coverage; and the necessity of Simplicity to help operators quickly understand and correctly use the equipment. The team is currently working on multiple improvements and modifications, most notably developing two new devices for major customers—one existing client and one targeted prospect. Product interest is heavily concentrated on the manual cabin for applying spray vaccines to day-old chicks in hatcheries, and the S-wagon for layer farms. Moving forward, the critical priority is to increase the network to drive conversions and boost overall turnover.
