ITALY
The retail trend in Italy shows a growing market, especially in the small and medium-sized and no-food sectors.
The Plastimark products in which the greatest interest has been expressed are Pleasy, Twiga, Duka, Hybrid Super, Slimmer and Maxityko.
Ongoing projects include starting to promote new, sustainable wheeled and wheel-free baskets, which will be produced in cooperation with the company Tetrapack.
An important agreement has been signed with Multicedi Srl, a leading company in the retail sector, for Decò shops in the Centre South of Italy.
MENA
Also in the Middle East and North Africa area, retailers are increasingly moving away from large format hypermarkets, to concentrate their forces mainly on proximity shops and small – medium sized areas. This new trend can be seen in the growing interest in Pleasy Roomy, Maxityko and Slimmer.
In Lebanon, an important project was started with the Al Forno group, a bakery and fresh food shop, which started supplying its shops with our Maxityko in Wood compound.
FRANCE
In France, as in other countries, the retail sector is changing. Large shops (more than 120000 m²) are increasingly reducing their surface area, while many mini-markets are opening. Some big brands are also approaching each other such as the former Casino and Intermarchè.
Among the most important project in progress is the Re-Turno bag, which involves replacing the classic paper bags with polypropylene baskets, suitable for Click & Collect shopping.
In terms of volume, our current best-selling product is the Tyko.
One of the existing critical issues is price, which is still a determining factor in choosing one product over another.
