The first nine months of the year have passed, since the formalisation of Giordano Global seven months have passed.
Let’s take a look at the perspective of the North America Business Unit, of which Bert van Dijk is manager and together with sales manager Charles Bursk manages sales in that area.

The egg industry in North America, particularly in the U.S., is robust and integral to the country’s agricultural landscape. With millions of laying hens and turkeys, high egg consumption, and a thriving processing and production sector, the industry continues to grow and innovate. As consumer preferences shift and sustainability practices become more important, the egg and poultry industries will likely adapt to meet new demands.

As of recent data, there are approximately 325 million laying hens in the U.S. These hens are primarily responsible for producing the eggs consumed within the country.

The current population of the United States is estimated to be around 334 million people , on average, each person in the U.S. consumes about 280 eggs per year. This amounts to a total annual consumption of approximately 9 billion dozen eggs in the U.S.

Egg consumption in the U.S. remains consistently high and is a major part of the American diet. There are roughly 50 major egg processing companies in the U.S. These companies handle a significant portion of the eggs produced, turning them into products for baking, restaurants, and packaged goods

Broiler eggs, also called hatching eggs, are produced by hens to hatch chicks. These chicks are then raised for meat production, which is a crucial part of the poultry industry.

The U.S. produces about 9 billion broiler eggs annually. These eggs are a key component of the chicken meat industry and are often separated from eggs intended for direct consumption.

The U.S. also raises around 230 million turkeys annually, with the majority being raised for meat production rather than egg production.

While turkeys are mainly raised for meat, they also play a role in the breeding sector.

The U.S. has around 2,500 turkey producers. These producers manage farms that supply turkeys for both meat and broiler eggs. The largest turkey-producing states are Minnesota, North Carolina, and Arkansas.
